SOFTWARE LINUX For this week, I do some research about software LINUX, their process also type of LINUX. That because I want to create coding for my CCTV which the software uses are LINUX. After I do research, i'm trying to download the software which the type is UBUNTU LINUX. This week also, I meet with my second supervisor which is Prof Zul to get opinion from him. For type of software you can read at my literature review. Thanks.

JOURNAL 3 THE ELECTRIC GATE MOTOR The backbone of any electric gate, whether automatic or not, is the electric gate motor, two distinct motor types exist hydraulic, or electromechanical. This is the electric device which actually enables the electric gate to open and close without having to manually push the gate. All types of electric gates and barriers make use of a motor of some kind. There are many different kinds of electric gate motors offered by a number of automation companies most located in Malaysia .

JOURNAL 2 DOCCEPT FOR CCTV CCTVs are used to monitor and record images of what takes place in specific locations in real time. The recorded information can be stored and reviewed by those who have access to the recordings at their convenience. CCTVs are predominantly offense prevention tools that also provide surveillance function to any organization. CCTV systems require robust platforms to manage the surveillance environment. It can be significantly damaging and expensive for any Organization if CCTV backups are unavailable in times of crises where this evidence is crucial. In Most CCTV environments, management is a people driven process and subject to the common errors of forgetfulness and inadequate training, resulting in failures that are detected only when it is too late.

LITERATURE REVIEW (FYP 2)

JOURNAL 1 LINUX SOFTWARE Linux. It’s been around since the mid ‘90s, and has since reached a user-base that spans industries and continents. For those in the know, you understand that Linux is actually everywhere. It’s in your phones, in your cars, in your refrigerators, your Roku devices. It runs most of the Internet, the supercomputers making scientific breakthroughs, and the world\'s stock exchanges. But before Linux became the platform to run desktops, servers, and embedded systems across the globe, it was (and still is) one of the most reliable, secure, and worry-free operating systems available. Just like Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X, Linux is an operating system. An operating system is software that manages all of the hardware resources associated with your desktop or laptop. To put it simply – the operating system manages the communication between your software and your hardware. Without the operating system (often referred to as the “OS”), t...

JOURNAL 2 WeMos D1 mini At the end of 2015 the hottest alternative seems to be the WeMos D1 mini. It has roughly the same width as a V2 NodeMCU devkit but at 34.2mm it is nearly a third shorter. It runs an ESP-8266EX MCU and provides 4MB flash. Its nine GPIO pins make the D1 mini suitable for a large IoT target audience. It supports both Arduino and NodeMCU. WeMos also sells a number of shields of equal size which allows to build nicely stackable units. The only downside for many may be that you have to solder the pins yourself. Each D1 mini comes with a pair of long and short female pins and a pair of normal pins. Some reports on the Internet claim that it can be a bit difficult to get proper drivers for the CH34x USB to serial chip on the D1 mini. That’s the same chip used by some of the cheap Arduino clones. Also, it’s obviously got a few pins less than the NodeMCU boards, check the pin map. On the other hand it’s also got a 5V out just like the LoLin V3. Cr...

JOURNAL 1 RASPBERRY PI VS ARDUINO What is the difference between the two? An Arduino is a microcontroller motherboard. A microcontroller is a simple computer that can run one program at a time, over and over again. It is very easy to use. A Raspberry Pi is a general-purpose computer, usually with a Linux operating system, and the ability to run multiple programs. It is more complicated to use than an Arduino. What would I use each for? Arduino is best used for simple repetitive tasks: opening and closing a garage door, reading the outside temperature and reporting it to Twitter, driving a simple robot. Raspberry Pi is best used when you need a full-fledged computer: driving a more complicated robot, performing multiple tasks, doing intense calculations. A simple rule of thumb to decide? Think about what you want your project to do. If you can describe it with less than two ‘and’s, get an Arduino. If you need more than two ‘and’s, ...
